SML Highlights Wellness and Innovation at ICI 2025
The Indonesia Cosmetic Ingredients (ICI) event took place from May 14 to May 16, 2025.
At this event, SML demonstrated that technology and sustainability can shape the future of personal care. Therefore, SML highlighted seven key trends in the personal care industry during the event:
-
AI-Powered Beauty
-
Waterless Beauty
-
Biotechnology Cosmetics
-
Entertainment Brands in Beauty
-
Simplified Skincare and Makeup Routines
-
Bold and High-Contrast Makeup
-
Neurocosmetic Beauty
These trends are showcased through a range of innovative prototypes displayed at the SML booth.
In addition to presenting these trends, SML is introducing BeautyData AI, a technology platform designed to support personal care innovations. This application aids in identifying emerging market trends within the home and personal care industry, empowering businesses to forecast with greater precision and strategize more effectively. SML is also emphasizing Sustainable Beauty Tech in neurocosmetics, focusing on creating beauty solutions that utilize environmentally responsible raw materials.
In parallel, the principals collaborated closely with SML to develop more than 100 product formulations showcased throughout the event. These prototypes were designed based on the seven key trends and carefully tailored to meet customer needs—enabling them to innovate faster and unlock stronger sales growth. The resulting prototypes were tailored to meet the preferences of SML's customers, to enable them to innovate their products and drive significant sales growth.
Beyond product prototypes, SML is hosting a seminar in collaboration with Omoji, featuring both formulation insights and a hands-on skincare class. The session, titled “How to Formulate Jelly Moisturizer Textures,” includes a workshop showcasing Omoji’s prototype product: Auraglow AI Deep Moisturizer Jelly Cream. Another seminar, led by BeautyData AI, explores the topic “Leveraging Market Trends & Unlocking Data-Driven Insights with Beauty Data Apps.”
Following the successful first day, ICI 2025 continued smoothly into its second and third days, with all scheduled activities proceeding as planned. Alongside the showcased neurocosmetic prototypes, the event also featured well-attended seminars that generated significant interest from visitors.
One notable highlight was a seminar by Dow Chemical, a principal partner of PT Sinergi Multi Lestarindo Tbk (SML), titled “Film Formers for Next Generation Skin Care and Color Cosmetics.” The session focused on innovative raw materials designed to form protective films on the skin, offering long-lasting benefits.
SML also hosted an Innovation Lab Workshop themed “No White Cast and Safe Physical Sunscreen,” demonstrating the formulation of gentle, effective physical sunscreens suitable for both babies and adults.
Overall, ICI 2025 marked a milestone event for SML, drawing a diverse array of industry professionals and generating valuable collaborations between visitors and SML’s trusted partners.
