Organic Food is produced and processed conventionally, which avoids biological engineering technology, radiation, the use of pesticides, hormones and antibiotics. All processes also not use any synthetic fertilizers or sludge waste.

Besides applying natural production processes, these foodstuffs must be free from food additives. For instance; preservatives, colourings, artificial sweeteners, and thickeners.

Why is Organic Food claimed to be healthier?

There are several reasons:    

First, Organic Food contains fewer pesticides. Most of them do not use synthetic chemical substances to protect vegetables and fruit from mold, pets and insects. Even if pesticides are used, organic fruit and vegetables are usually grown using small amounts of organic pesticides.

Second, organic food doesn’t contain additives. Organic Food is also not processed with additional ingredients, such as preservatives, artificial sweeteners, coloring agents, and flavors such as monosodium glutamate (MSG)

Third, Organic food ingredients are claimed to be more environmentally friendly. Organic farming is widely considered to be a far more sustainable alternative when it comes to food production. The lack of pesticides and wider variety of plants enhances biodiversity and results in better soil quality and reduced pollution from fertilizer or pesticide run-off.

From many studies on the benefits of organic food, there are no significant differences between an organic diet and a regular diet. The most determining factor is the quality of your nutritional intake and the diversity of food ingredients.
